Dive Deep.
Think Beyond.
Feel the Culture.
RIDDIM is where reggae culture lives. We’re an online magazine dedicated to reggae, dancehall, and Jamaican culture — past, present, and future.
RIDDIM is built on decades of journalistic experience and a deep love for — and appreciation of — Jamaican music and culture. RIDDIM draws from a rich foundation: 123 German-language print issues, a special edition on Bob Marley, and seven English-language magazines – a powerful cultural archive shaped over 25 years. This isn’t a trend. It’s legacy.
Since 2001, RIDDIM has been one of Germany’s strongest voices for reggae and dancehall. Through our English-language editions (2005–2007) and the influence of the German magazine, RIDDIM has grown beyond national borders into an internationally recognized brand. RIDDIM is an institution.
RIDDIM offers curated depth — not noise: well-researched articles, detailed biographies, critical perspectives, thorough analysis, concise news, gripping reports, opinionated commentary, meaningful reviews, and long-form interviews that zoom in on artists without losing journalistic distance. Hipness and history go hand in hand.
In a world of scrolling, shortcuts, and surface-level takes, RIDDIM stands for knowledge, context, and substance. We don’t do clickbait. We don’t chase outrage. We don’t let algorithms dictate culture. Real talk over fake news. Real connection over fleeting attention.
RIDDIM is home for the global reggae community. To us reggae, dancehall, dub, and other Caribbean sounds are not only musical styles, they’re living cultures, vibrant worlds, and powerful attitudes. RIDDIM covers the full spectrum of reggae, dancehall, and sound system culture — from underground to iconic. From Kingston to the diaspora. RIDDIM represents the scene in its entirety, guided by conviction and the belief in strength in unity.
On RIDDIM.world, you get access to brand-new content and a constantly expanding archive spanning 25 years. We spotlight upcoming, established, and overlooked artists. We track current developments, travel through history, look behind the scenes, and beyond the obvious. Hardcore, but never narrow-minded.
None of this comes off the top of our heads nor out of thin air. Over the years, RIDDIM has built a network of professional writers and photographers from all over the world. Their work — and ours — is driven not only by love for Jamaican culture, but also by dedication, research, and countless hours of effort.
That’s why we ask: Become a member of the RIDDIM community.
