Festivals sometimes write remarkable stories of their own. Black Forest On Fire is one such story. This year, the festival celebrates its 10th anniversary – and first of all, a huge and heartfelt congratulations for reaching this milestone!
The festival, held in Berghaupten, has earned special respect for two key reasons. Firstly, everything is organised completely independently, built from the ground up by the people behind it. Secondly – and this deserves special emphasis – all proceeds go towards supporting social and cultural projects and local community organisations in the surrounding area. Boom! Not only is this a successful way of putting values into practice, it also disproves a persistent Jamaican stereotype that outsiders exploit Jamaican music.
In reality, that is rarely the case anyway. But Black Forest On Fire makes this especially clear. It also demonstrates the power of community and what people can achieve when they come together. The non-profit organisation BLACK FOREST ON FIRE e.V. has always been driven not only by passion, joy, a love of music and a clear vision, but also by the desire to spread love, peace and tolerance – something that may be more important now than ever before.

Today, BFOF brings together more than 5,000 visitors from different generations and cultural backgrounds in one place. And, of course, every single member of the team works on a voluntary basis.
To mark the anniversary, the organisers have secured major names such as Gentleman and Queen Omega, both of whom embody the spirit and message of Black Forest On Fire on stage. Gentleman arrives with several new singles that offer an exciting preview of his forthcoming album, due in August. The songs released so far place a strong emphasis on togetherness rather than division – on bringing people together instead of driving them apart. That is exactly what has been successfully practised in Berghaupten for the past ten years.
And when it comes to the ”fire” in the festival’s name, Queen Omega has that covered. Why? See for yourself when she takes the stage with her powerful voice and commanding presence.
And if you are still hesitating: the stunning setting alone, nestled in the deep green Black Forest near Pappelwaldsee, is more than enough reason to make the journey for a reggae weekend.
