I grew up listening to dancehall DJs and radio shows from the UK. One of the names that constantly accompanied my teenage years in Germany was The Heatwave. Their Carnival Bashment mixes, their Rinse FM shows and especially their event series Hot Wuk felt different from the Dancehall culture we knew locally.
